The beauty of working at weddings is being able to share a special day with people but also seeing some amazing locations. Jennifer & Fran’s wedding back in July was no exception to that. The wedding took place at the stunning Grade II listed Garthmyl Hall in Berriew, situated in the beautiful historic county of Montgomeryshire.
The venue is surrounded by stunning countryside and made for some picturesque photos. The staff at the venue were great to work with and access to the marquee was great. I was able to get close and unload equipment which is always a good start to an event!

Jennifer & Francis, or Mr & Mrs Nelson now, were a lovely couple to work with and had some great music choices. The couple wanted to have lots of input in the time and running order of tracks which always helps an evening run nice and smoothly.
Interestingly they wanted the 90’s Rave/House section straight after the first dance, with one of my favourite all time tracks N-Joi – Anthem.
We usually leave this era of music until later on in a wedding once the party is really in full swing. But Jen, Fran and all of their friends and family were up and partying from the very start! It was a fantastic, fun hour, before we went back to some of the more classic wedding tracks that everyone enjoyed singing and dancing to.
Jen & Fran had picked David Bowie – Heroes as their penultimate track, followed by Starship – Nothings gonna stop us. The guests loved both of the choices and they provided a great end to brilliant wedding.
