Back in April this year, I had the pleasure of playing the wedding of Mr & Mrs Home, or Emma & Connor as most will know them. Emma & Connor chose the fantastic Alcumlow Wedding barn in Cheshire as their venue. The staff at the venue were extremely helpful, access at the Wedding Barn excellent and it made unloading equipment nice and easy.

Many Wedding Barns don’t have monitors however there were two available which was a nice addition. The venue itself has fantastic lighting both in the day and evening, but as a Wedding DJ, it’s obviously the evening lighting which matters most. The barn has an excellent ambience which really helps compliment the professional club lighting I provide.
Emma & Connor provided a great selection of music suggestions spanning from the 80’s to the 90’s and then adding some Classic R&B, dance and even Indie for later on. The couple did a great job with me only having to add in some similar classics to keep things flowing nicely as the night went on.
As with many weddings and events we attend now, Emma & Connor decided not to allow guests to make requests. Whilst we’re happy with either approach, a preselected playlist or genre/style works far better. The last thing you want is a full dancefloor only for a rogue request to send everyone back to their seats!

The guests at the wedding were fantastic with everyone having a great time, as can be seen in the pictures. The penultimate and final track with the couple picked were Champagne Supernova by Oasis and One Day Like This by Elbow. The two songs went down extremely well and it was a pleasure to see the happy couple surrounded by their family and friends for the final part of their special day.
